I was under the impression that this violated the major element section of the rules and would be illegal even in the advanced rules. Wish I'd known. But it wouldn't make much difference scorewise in my submission. ;) |

why does the photographer have to be in shot to prove the camera took the photo. I can just see it now the comments of why is this in the shot or why didn't you crop that out. My very first comment was that there was no way my camera took the shot...MIRRORS!! Sorry for the rant but totally frustrated because of the low score because people think my camera didn't take the photo of itself. I will post outtakes to prove it but of course the voting is over by then.

That's exactly what I was thinking too...I realize now that was a huge mistake. |

I don't think flipping the image is a mistake at all...
It is pretty obvious that almost all of these shots will be reflections and that the photographer, by flipping the image, has thought more about the end result and not just thought "oh - I need to leave this backwards so the stupid voters can see it is a reflection..." |

nobody said the photographer had to be in the shot, he was talking about angles.

I know you agree, you told me so in your comment :)
Thanks for being kind when you mentioned it, by the way. The next commenter was needlessly cruel. |

I got a similar comment and even got my score bumped down because of it. I didn't even think of flipping my image, but I can just imagine what my score would be like if I had...

Just because I'm seeing this discussion about flipping, I'll go back and rate every shot that wasn't flipped a 1. How thoughtless... |
