I downloaded a free piece of software for nokia (symbian) phones. It's called panoman and is pretty good as it allows you to (carefully and steadily) take 360degree shots.
As you can see, it's not exactly perfect but if your careful when you scroll the joins can be invisible.. The resoloution is also quite low, which is a shame.
This was all taken on a nokia N70
