I wasn't sure whether to post this here, or on another board. =\

Anyway, it's not like I'm a PS newb, I've just seen sepia Duotones with blue undertones a lot of places, and have wanted to replicate it. I've tried and tried to get it right, and I can't seem to. I don't mind if it's technically a Tritone or whatever, I just want to get that effect. Anyone have a preset of it, or want to tell me what colors to use and a rough curves adjustment to use?

Can you link to an example?

Duh! Sorry about that.

i got kind of close to that coloring by using a gradient map:

first, i added a channel mixer adjustment layer to grayscale the photo.

then i made my foreground color RGB: 43,47,53 (a dark gray blue) and my background color RGB: 235,221,194 (a light peach tone).

then i added a "gradient map" adjustment layer. it shifts the tones in the image between the range of my foreground and background colors.

finally, i added a levels adjustment layer to get the contrast the way i wanted.

voila!

hope this helps.

i meant to add that if you play with your color selections, you can get close to the tones that you want. :)
