Since the camera has to be taking a photo of itself, and only digital photos are allowed... I think the answer is yes. |

Yes, but if it's still confusing take a stab at Stupid Stupid instead. :P |
What is the difference? |

Okay so when it says "itself" does it have to be the very camera taking the picture, or would another copy of itself count?
Otherwise I can see a large number of reflections-off-unusual-shiny-objects in the near future. |

IMO, it's not "self" if it's not the camera that's taking the photo.
If you take a picture of your twin, it's not a self-portrait. |

Yes, but when you take a self portrait, you are not the item recording the image, so you can just set the timer and dash into place, or use a remote release.
Other than taking pictures of reflections or other photos, there's no way to actually have your camera take a picture of itself.

Very weird challenge.
Can I take a picture of the challenge description and enter it in the other one? :-) |

How do you think that painters make self-portraits? Mirrors...

My camera is camera shy.
Any takers to do something really, really stupid so I can enter that challenge instead?

I've done it, and entered it... I won't post the underwhelming result, LOL, but y'all can find it easily enough. I actually wouldn't mind repeating it, but fat chance I'll have time to execute. |

I'm imagining a big, fat piece of fibge-optic cable duct-taped to the lense & looping back to look at the camera. I wonder if they carry that at the Dollar Store.

ok. i hate to ask such a stupid noOb question but, does a Camera Self Portait picture have to be JUST the camera in the picture? or something or someone behind the camera? i just don't really get it... this is going to be my first submission and well.. it's scary. i want to do it right, (if there is a right way to do it?!)

I'd personally amend that with "and the camera is the focus of the photo"... |

Thanks dude!
My confusion has subsided and im happy with the shot I got. I think it turned out pretty well.. but uhh... compared to some of the photos i've seen in the galleries, there is some pretty amazing artists here
A little intimidating...
