what is the difference?

exclusive means you choose one of the two to enter.

open means that you can enter the challenge no matter if you entered one or none of the other exclusive challenges.

you can only enter 1 of the "exclusive open challenges" at a time.

an open challenge does not limit you from entering other challenges.

Peas is a special challenge - usually all open challenges are exclusive.
