I found this very large butterfly/moth like creature hanging on a beam inside an open restaurant in Thailand.
I had never seen a thing like this, it was about 10cm long and 15cm wide, maybe even bigger.
It was just hanging there, but it was alive....

Anybody ever seen something like it? And maybe even know what name it has?

PS this is no macro or anything, it was shot from 5 meters with a 85mm lens. It was realy big.

That guy is an Atlas moth - the largest moth in the world! :)

I bet that thing could reak havoc on a linen closet. haha

1st I was thinking it was fake when `they´ pointed it out to me, but as I observed it, it was alive.
It´s a realy awesome moth... And to think that I am realy affraid of every bug that flies, please aplaud me for taking this picture :)

Atlas Moth, a good name for this big bug!
