In a recent issue of Popular Photography & Imaging, there was an article addressing the questions of when and when not. It also addressed when model releases etc. were required. May be worth checking out.

Page 71 of the March 2003 issue. Article author is Victor Perlman, atty for the American Society of Media Photographers.

The easiest way to clear this up would be to contact whoever it is who sells the tickets and ask them if you are allowed to profit from images you took while at the game. I'm sure they know if you are allowed or not, and they are probably the people who would sue you if you are not, anyway.

Well, duh! How come it took so long for someone to come up with this idea? The only addition to this would be not necessarily those that sell the tickets (like ticketmaster) but the team PR person. There is always some e-mail address you can write to for each team to ask such questions and that address is usually found somewhere in the team's website.

The other alternative to trying to read the micro-print on the back of your ticket is to call the event venue in advance and ask what is, and is not, allowed. So far, I've always been told I was OK to shoot with whatever I asked to bring...

D'OH! So... what's your point then? R U Saying I'm a MORON?! Oh wait... I think I'm saying that.... drat!

Thanks for pointing out my ignorance. I think it had heretofore gone unnoticed, but maybe I'm wrong... I am stupid after all, right?

;)

Where is that fire extinguisher?

Since I couldn't mention this during the voting for the sports challenge, but I have been talking about my image:

Hoping For A Good Bunt

Would this type of image be an issue to sell, if the names were removed from the players?

No one capable of posting to a DPC forum qualifies as a moron. Just that the postings go by quickly and many excellent points get lost in the morass of nested quotes and blinking avatars.

I was actually trying to commend you for reiterating the basic procedure while still crediting the first poster.
