Next month the Icelandic Power Company will start to fill Iceland most controversial and largest reservoir.
Unique landscape will be sunk forever, and the dam and lagoon will impact the largest wilderness in Europe. This dam has been very controversial to say the least. Everything has been critisized, from the price of the electricity to the aluminum smelter (1/2 the price of what Brazil offered), the choice of contractor (Impregilo, belived to be very corrupt), the impact on national economy (people still debate if it will be good or bad) and not least, environmental impact.
There have been dubious police actions against protestors and conspiracy makers have been having a blast!
I have personally been against it from the start, therefore I wanted to share this with you. I am going to visit this place later this month, in hope to see it for the last time and perhaps capture a little bit of its magic before it is lost forever.

Regards,

J.

I must have missed that part... could you point it out to me. Surely you are not alluding to that one incident mentioned in the article. Why would I be more prone to believe a demonstrator over a police officer???
