Just need to vent...
I just got off the phone with the United States Post Office. Seems they don't know where my camera is. I sent it registered, insured, with confirmation. They can't find the registration (I have the receipt in my hand) and they can't tell me where it might be. I mailed it on August 1. Priority mail. The clerk says, "About 3 days." So I wait, and I wait, and I wait. And now, 6 days have gone by. Nothing. I go to the post office. "I can't help you - I don't have access to that." Okay. I call. "There is no registered number in our system that matches yours." HUH? I give them the delivery confirmation number. "Oh, you mailed it August 1st." Duh. Yeah! That's why I'm calling! "Well, we don't have any other record than that." What? "You need to wait at least 14 days to file a claim." What?! So my 30D and my 70-300IS are now lost somewhere between College Park, MD and New Jersey. And I have to wait until August 15th before I can call them again, if it hasn't been delivered. And, if it hasn't been delivered, I have to file a claim. And wait. So, I told her I would never use the post office again. Not like they care. She then said, "Thank you for using the United States Postal Service." |
