I am just wondering which way some of you do sharpening and noise reduction...should I sharpen first and then use NI, or the other way around? I am working primarily with portraits in case that makes any difference.

Thanks,
Carisa

sharpening is the last step, after every other process is complete.

you should use Neat Image first before any other adjustments. No need to post process all teh noise. Sharpen last.

Yup...

Remove the noise before you make it worse. For instance if you bump up the contrast, you also bump up the contrast of the noise. NI first, sharpen last.

This is good advice. Thanks to Fotomann's suggestion (posted previously), I've been using NI as early as I can in my PP. My final pictures have been coming out cleaner, most likely due to changing the steps around.
