Want to buy my first backdrop and stand system. I need to shoot portraits for a martial arts school and they require black backgrounds. Listed below are the items I'm thinking of getting to start. Any comments on what I have chosen, looking for feedback.

I've been considering this one: backdrop + 3 muslins

Just one comment about the stands.. They are 9.75' wide, and that backdrop is 10ft.

Outside that you can't go wrong with manfrotto kit, it's well made and reliable, I have some of their stands and they're nice compared to the cheaper chinese ones I have.

The other thing, not related to the backdrop.. I hope you're using an incident light meter, the 20D meter dosn't cope that well with white outfits on large black backgrounds. :-).

Cheers, Me.

One other thing I learnt from doing this setup:

(The first time I used my stands "on location")

Make sure you don't loose the allen key that is used to lock the segments of the cross-bar together... A 12ft pole is quite long sticking out the window of an SUV. :-).
