I am worried about DNMC voteswith the stopped motion. If it gets slammed I might have to pull my first self DQ. It's a nice shot, but I don't know how the voters will react.
I am pleased with my From the Ground Up entry. Should do OK, but you never know around here.
On the logo with the pic in the background, it looks to me like were are tageting the hurdler for assasination or something ;-)
How about instead of a rifle scope mask, we use an old split image focusing screen? The kind with the little circle in the middle that split the image until it was in focus. Older manual focus film SLRs were that way. I know, I'm old. |
OK, I changed my Stopped Motion to one that will not get DNMCs. I don't like it as much photographically, but I've found the voters to have a low treshold for pushing the DNMC envelope.
After the challenge I'll post up the outtakes here for the team's opinion.

I am really torn on this one. I can't wait to see what you guys think of the one I didn't enter. It was a tough shot to get, but you can' t really tell that unless you let it sink in for a minute. Most enrites get about 10=15 seconds of consideration, so I think it would get lost in the shuffle.
You'll probably beat the one I have entered, so don't worry! |

I started with a 7 but now am down to a 5.29 :(
I've uploaded the duck I used and the cross hairs in case anyone wants to play with them:
 
I do however like scarbrd's idea of mimicing the look of the old SLR's.
Also, thanks to Zen entries by justdino4it, mad_brewer, SherwinJames and scarbrd week 4's score will be at least 6.0498 :)

My Zen did worse than I expected (oh well), although I did great with those voters without cameras (go figure). My Bits and Pieces is looking to be one of my worst scores yet (but I kind of knew it wouldn't go over well with the voters).
My Stop Motion is heading towards Average City, unfortunately. I am hoping for a big voter revelation ;-).

I just need to check to make sure that everyone is ready to comit to submitting the photos that they need to for the season. If not, it is no problem i have pleanty of backups...good ones...ones with 6.5 averages...so if you think that you will not have time for this THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO BACK OUT WITH OUT ME CARING...any backing out after this, i will hate you...i need to submit or roster to the head.

I'm new to this, I think I can do it but I don't have all the details.
When does the season start, how long does it run, and what exactly do we have to do?

The season should start sometime in September...You need to enter about 6 week in the 8 week season, and every week during the playoffs.

I'm in, but I wouldn't concentrate on just averages. I'd also look at how many challenges they enter and their current average, maybe last 10 or so.
If everybody is still in, it doesn't matter anyway... I think we have a good team. |

I think I've been in every challenge since I started entering. The only one I missed was a speed challege for fireworks. It rained here the entire 4th of july weekend. All my fireworks shots were red smoke!
I almost didn't enter the Stopped Motion challenge. In retrospect I shouldn't have ;-)
May be my lowest score of all. |

I'm still in. This timeframe is better for me. This time of year I find it harder to take photos as its dark when I get home from work - September is summer here - woo hoo!

The winner gets 7 points, second gets 6, etc down the 7th gets 1 point. If you don't submit a photo you get a zero? Just a bit of fun. Everyone keen?

This is so lame I like it....
I got it off Clipart. I have an account and you can use them for just about anything you want. Feel free to go there and find clipart, picture, font, etc for creating the logo. If you search "camera", "photography", etc you can find pages of them. Let me know which you want and I'll get them. |
