I believe Scarbrd is in. But i am not positive. He sent me a message asking me what it was, he said he was interested, but just didnt know much about it. I sent him a PM of how it works, but i havent heard back yet...he is REALLY good, so i am hoping we get him!!! If so, we are a full team!!!!!! if not, i still have some outstanding invites. As for our logo, we should have crosshairs aimed at a fishtank full of jello with roadkill in it, set on fire....seriously, if someone would be willing to take i photo of that, THAT WOULD BE AWSOME!!!!

I'll track the stats for our team for the rest of WPL2 as if we were in it. This will give us an idea of how we stand compared to the current teams each week.
Round 4 is based on the Zen, Bits & Pieces, and Action Shots challenges so when voting for all those finishes I'll work out our team average (average of 4 best submissions by 4 of our members). It will tell us nothing more than how we compare to all teams as WPL is actually a head-to-head competition so we won't be able to tell if we would have made it past round play.
I've not entered any of the challenges for round 4.

According to the FAQ: "Your team consists of seven photographers and only the top four photographers scores count toward the team average" |

That looks good to me in leiu of anyone coming up with something better. And I'm glad there is no burning roadkill involved ;)
I'd like to see something converying the "happy" aspect of the name more though. If I get a chance I'll try and knock something up too. I was thinking a smiling rubby ducky being lined up in the crosshairs of a rifle-looking SLR?!? |

I'm in, if I'm still invited.
I didn't see this thread until today.
Looks like we have some good shooters! I'm still new here, no ribbons, but a few top 10s. |

I like Zoomdak's, but this one is a bit funnier. It gets my vote.
Wouldn't the crosshairs go through the duck? It might not look too bad if they were a bit thinner. Just a thought... |

Okay, so how about we combine the crosshairs from nuzzers, with the layour of zoomdaks, and use like the highest scoring picture any of us has had as the background.

I'm at work now but when I get home I'll put the duck etc in my portfolio and zoomdak can then weave his magic. Or Zoomdak could just go for it - the duck I googled to find.
I thought it may look good if the duck was on a whitebackground with crosshairs and a cirlce but the rest of the logo had a background like Zoomdaks idea. That would be more colourful than plain white. |

Some stats based on the team if we had been in WPL for rounds 1-3:
Round 1: We would have scored 6.2588 which would have ranked us 9th.
Round 2: We would have scored 6.3468 which would have ranked us 2nd.
Round 3: We would have scored 6.2575 which would have ranked us 8th.

Well, I actually got an entry in for stopped action. I was torn between a photo that would surely be in the low threes, but then I took pity on team Trigger Happy and entered a normal shot. My guess is at least high fives, but who knows, maybe a four, maybe an eight. :-D

I'm in Stopped Motion and From the Ground Up.
I am worried about DNMC voteswith the stopped motion. If it gets slammed I might have to pull my first self DQ. It's a nice shot, but I don't know how the voters will react.
I am pleased with my From the Ground Up entry. Should do OK, but you never know around here.
On the logo with the pic in the background, it looks to me like were are tageting the hurdler for assasination or something ;-)
How about instead of a rifle scope mask, we use an old split image focusing screen? The kind with the little circle in the middle that split the image until it was in focus. Older manual focus film SLRs were that way. I know, I'm old. |
