I entered a great 5 score photo! It is going to be the best 5 score photo EVER MADE!!! HA! Beat that DPC'ers.

The free study contest should let you put a description with your photo to show why you did it so voters could see it during voting. Some people may not understand why it's your free study. My free study actually has purpose and people should know how long I've been attempting it...DARN IT...lol.. Wish me luck, even though i don't think my free study is DPC friendly, I think it is a good photo and I'm proud of it.

just posted something entirely new for me - I've impressed myself - lets just hope voters agree.

Wow, 350 entries and still 4 days to go. If there is the same last minute rush as other challenges have this will have over 500 entries in it!

Maybe I won't set a 100% comment target on this one :)

I've just entered my first ever free study - and I'm a lil worried I might get slaughtered! *LoL* The quality of photos submitted to past free study challenges have been phenomenal. While I am quite pleased with my entry - lighting and composition-wise, I think its my best yet - comparatively, its surely nowhee near the top. It shall be a learning experience, however, and for that I look forward to the results!

Okay..I finally entered my free study. I Think it is one of the better photos I've taken to date (if not the best). If it gets hammered i'll be crushed. If I gets DNMC I quit. I made sure not to pay for anything required for the shoot during this month just to make sure someone didn't get Free Study confused with Someone studying for free.

Anyways I'm excited to see what kind of scores I get on this.

Free Studies are tough. Especially when there is a 30 day period to enter. Last time there were over 600 entries and it took a score of 7 or better to break the top 10 (actually top 14), and a 6.5ish score to make the top 50.

So, have fun, but don't get too hung up on your score for this one. It is what it is - sit back and enjoy the ride. ;^)

I plan to enter as soon as I decide which shot I want to use. I will serve a useful purpose - someone has to fill the bottom 50% slots and I'm proud and willing to do so. :-)

Really? My entry is quite Bearish too :-)

Well, I entered yesterday and it's completely different than my usual Free Study (read: Landscape). I've wanted to do the shot for a while though. It will be interesting to see how it will do, I'm guessing the max potential is 6.5 so even at it's best it will likely only get 50th at best.

No way bottom 50%! I'll predict a 6.175 for you with a 62% finish.

Nothing scientific...just tossing one out there for fun. ;^)

I have mine in, but unfortunately I will not see how it does until a couple of days after voting is closed. We go on vacation a day before voting starts and come back a couple of days after it ends. No internet service in the cabin in the forest that we are renting for the week. This could be a good thing. If my shot tanks I wont have the crappy feeling all week long of seeing it crash and burn. Good luck to all and I look forward to perusing the entries when we get home.

Sounds like you might want to submit your original and editing steps now, just in case...

Was thinking the same... would suck to ribbon and get DQ'd while off line.

Edit: too slow

I've just entered my first free study. I'm quite prepared for my picture to get panned, as no doubt there will be some exceptional images, but there you go, got to enter some time!

If you want :)
But some people may vote it down if they recognise it. You can never be sure.

I can't believe a month has gone by and I've got NOTHING. I had lots of ideas but the weather has been awful here for over a week and I couldn't get out. The one time I actually got out the location was closed due to storm damage...

I still have lunchtime today but I'm not too hopeful.

Extra credit for anyone that votes and comments on all entries!

527 and counting
