I can never find anything using the search function, so sorry...

What's the best kind of screen protector to put on the LCD screen? It would be ideal is if I could get something that would work both for my cameras and for my palm pilot. Is that possible, or are they somehow different?

What's the trick for cutting it to size and getting it on straight the first time?

Thanks!

I'm using a mobile-phone screen protector on my camera's LCD.
Just remember to get those that are non-glare/reflective as
it will make the LCD more viewable under sunlight

You can use it for both. The trick, cut it after it's on.

Guess I lost my post at roll over...anyways

A fellow IT guy at work brought in a roll (bigger than a roll of tp) of the same clingy stuff that we pay way to much for about 8 precut pieces at bestbuy and the likes.

Says his brother uses it all the time in the Hospital industry (might be dentist)...I will find out tomorrow.

Anyways we have been using this roll to cut our own (x-acto knife) to fit for about a year now to cover all kinds of Cam LCDs, Handhelds and Cell displays.

Way more reasonable priced than the pre cut stuff.

I'll report back tomorrow when I find where they get the stuff.

you probably don't need anything.
My 300D went 15 months of normal use with not a mark on the screen - and that includes days worth of time with it hanging around my neck with the #1 contact point to me being hte screen.

i had a GPS with what appears to be the same kind of screen and I used it really hard (no case, threw it in teh car, backpacks, dropped it in the dirt/mud/rocks and not a mark on it either.

I got a used 20D - not a mark.
My 30D is approaching 7500 shots - not a mark.

a friend that worked at a sign shop was gonna get me a scrap piece of that clear cling PVC they use for stick on window letters but never did - seemed like it might work well and the price was gonna be right.

Were you thinking of this or more like this?

You might give this company a try:

Invisible Shield

I use one of their products for my GPS, and it seems to do a good job of protecting the surface. I'm sure it's just as good for cameras, too.
