I had a um "maturing" science experiment on my deck. Due to the cooler weather we've been having, it was taking a little longer to age but I was watching it closely for the perfect moment. Last night as I lay sleeping not 5 feet away from my subject, separated only by sliding glass doors, some critter decided it was ripe enough and took it for a midnight snack. The funny thing is my dogs didn't notice a thing, nor did I. I suspect a skunk, although it might have been a coyote. Oh, well, the squeamish among you should take this opportunity to rejoice. I'm bummed. I WAS going to donate it to the carnivorous creatures when I was done..Honest!

Be very afraid! I was going to say, but didn't want to spoil anybody else's idea...or dinner. It was about life and death and nature recyling herself. Any death portrayed was purely accidental. It didn't have anything to do with the potato bug I photographed earlier this week. I released that monster, would have sent it to vtruan,
"It's just a damn cricket of the ugly type. They taste very good. Try it you'll like it... Van" but didn't have his addy.
