| Thanks to dpc inspiring me to pursue photography, I have decided to take up an analogue photography class at college. I now need to buy a 35mm camera. Since I already have a lense for my canon and am planning on expanding the collection, it would be nice to get a canon. Been looking at the rebel 2000. Anybody with experience have some wisdom/advice to share? Thanks :) |

buy a bulk loader *& a 50 ft spool of 100iso B&W & a dozen canisters
it will be cheaper than buying the 36's
find a used processing kit (people are dumping them) & get some chemicals & do you own processing (quite cheap & easy) instructions are all over the web (still;)
get a GOOD thermometer ;)

If you're interested I've got an Elan 7e with battery grip I'm selling. Awesome camera...I just don't use it anymore. I really wish Canon would put eye controlled focusing in the digital cameras as it's really cool.

I have been using the Canon Elan 7NE for about a year. This is a fantastic camera particularly with the 50mm f/1.4 lens.
I wish I could find a digital equivalent.
My advice about the course is to expect to spend a significant amount of time in the darkroom. |

Your cheapest option would be a Canon EF-M (I just sold one for about £12), it's manual focus but the split screen focusing aid in the viewfinder is nice to use with fast glass.

If you want a nice camera (that'll also let you do IR photography) for a cheap price, I have a Canon EOS 650 I'm also selling.

I'm starting out my photography classes next month, I'm pretty excited.
Planning on using my dad's old Canon AT-1 for film shooting. : D

Check around. My friend just unloaded an EOS 1-n for around five hundred bucks...
Madman 2k just picked one up for cheap too (I think it was cheap)...
I used the 1-n for a little while and DANG! that thing ROCKETH!
Using it with a cheap 75-300 f/4.5-5.6 Canon performed better than my 30D with 80-200 f/2.8L. Wow.
If you wanted to have some fun, I think the EOS 5 has eye control focus... something to play with anyhow. Some hate it, some love it. |
