Have you ever tried sending email to someone only to find the file is TO big and their mailbox rejects it? Did you try sending photos to someone only to find YOUR Email provider won't let you send a file that big? Well....................heeeeeeeeeeeeeere's Pando. Using your regular email address, you can send a file up to 1GB. Pando will send a small file (usually about 32kb) telling the receiver they have mail (it'll show it's from you even though you aren't logged nto email). If they don't have Pando, they can download it...it's the only way they can get the photos you sent. Pando will hold the photos for 14 days before deleteing them.
I'm trying to send myself 324MB of photos just to see how it works on the receiving end. Takes a while to upload that much. |

Another option is YouSendIt.com -- you can transfer files up to 1GB for free. Register for the free service and you can maintain an address book of recipients and use some other features.
I think it basically uses a browser-based interface to conduct a behind-the-scenes FTP transfer. |

For some reason I thought this was going to be a question about an email received offering cheap V.1.a.g.r.a or some such.
On a side note I like Hello for this. |

Yahoo does the same thing. Pando sends FULL sized images in 1 neat package. You can drag/drop from you foldser. Upload speeds can vary, but downloading them is same as downloading anything other photos. As General mentioned YouSendIt, I didnt register, but it seems you can only u/ 1 photo at a time? |

Typically YSI users ZIP or Stuff their files into an archive file first -- it's usually safer to send multiple files that way anyhow. I'd rather control that process myself than rely on the site to do it for me (which is almost for sure what happens). |

I see your point General. I did a bit more looking around on Pando's website and found this . Is that what YSI does? |

It's extraordinarily simple assuming you have a single (e.g. ZIP) file to send ...
When you browse over to the YSI site, you'll have a form with three required steps and two optional fields to fill out:
-Recipients email address (req)
-Your email address (opt)
-Your text message (opt)
-File to upload (req) -- Browse button to find the file on your disk
-Hit the "Send It" button (req) and wait (and watch ads) while your file uploads
There are some display issues with some browsers, but IE should work ...
On the other end, the recipient gets an email with a link (and your optional message) which takes them to a page with a "Download Now" button; they press that and the file download to their disk starts, using whatever download prefs they have their browser set to.
