Check this out. I was the DJ for this wedding, and if you click "video" at the top of this article, you will see what was on the 6:00 news last night. In 12 years as a DJ, I've never had one like this. Oh, and the photographers were really cool--Canon users and we had great conversation during the (candle lit) dinner. :o)

pretty cool. good thing those shooters had those notoriously low-noise cameras to shoot in that type of light ;-)

That's hilarious!

Unbelievable that a restaurant owner would plug in a DJ booth instead of a sump pump in his flooding basement! Guess it wasn't all that wet then.

Play some swing dude.

Hi Don! While my employer's firewall won't let me see the video, the article was interesting (this, of course, is my backyard, too!). I photographed a couple of weddings this summer, and, while we had our outdoor shots nixed due to rain at the first one, I've never experienced anything like this! Sounds like a very resourceful bunch with the generators and all... Thanks for sharing.

See you at the Science Museum Camera Club this Fall?

Regards,

The restaurant owner was playing it up for the camera a bit. :o) The generator I was using didn't belong to the restaurant. If he had tried to unplug me to run his sump pump, there would have been a riot. They had a second generator there for some lights in the restaurant anyway, so I think he was just trying to look like a hero. I don't blame him--I would have too! The funny thing is, I think the power went back on around midnight. I finished at about 11:35...

And Len, I will probably be back--see you then!
