My Zen has gone asleep, maybe I should join it.

Perhaps you could explain it, since several threads I read emphasized that minimalism is the core of zen?
I'm truly asking; I'm clueless about this subject.
Thanks! |

Forgive me... but I am new to the site - how do I see how my submission is going?
Thanks,

On the menu, click on My Home. Then on the left side you will see your submission. |

On the left hand side of the main page is My Submission, you will find an update link under your photo and if your image is not there you are not in the challenge.

Welcome and good luck. Be careful when you start to use that update button. People have been known to become quickly addicted. |

I didn't really know what zen was till about 10min ago when it was explained to me - I just thought it was simplicity and minimalism.

I unsually interpret it as the no-mind of meditation, which is a kind of thoughtless contemplation. So a zen image would be something devoid of commotion, no real message, no story, just something that's there, and peacefully so.

Ah, thanks! My image definitely doesn't have a message or story, and it's very simple visually. It barely qualifies as having a subject, actually.
So I'm waiting for the 10s. *taps foot impatiently*

Okay, I can't say that with a straight face. :) |

Of late, I love but quietness:
Things of this world are no more my concern.
Looking back, I’ve known no better plan
Than this: returning to the grove.
Pine breezes loosen my robe.
Mountain moonbeams play my lute.
What, you ask, is Final Truth?
The fisherman’s song strikes deep into the bank.

I think I speak for a lot of people when I say, keep your banana to yourself! |

That is totally hot. Poetry truly doesn't get any better than the Asian classics. Li Po is another favorite. Mmmm.... *swoon*
Oh, and 5.68something last I checked. Strongest start I've had in a long while.
Edited to correct a typo.

I try not to use the "T" word, but somebody just gave me a 2...
I think I need some zen right about now. |

Not a very good score, but hey - I've already got 5 comments :)
Here's another beautiful one -
“Ten thousand flowers in the spring, the moon in autumn,
a cool breeze in summer, snow in winter.
If your mind isn’t clouded by unnecessary things, this is the best season of your life.”
~Wu Men Kuan
...and yet another one -
Before you study Zen, mountains are mountains and rivers are rivers;
while you are studying Zen, mountains are no longer mountains and rivers are no longer rivers;
but once you have had enlightenment mountains are once again mountains and rivers again rivers.
