i've recently bought a nikon off ebay and have noticed that there is what appears to be oil residue on the lcd screen. is there anything i could use to get it off?

Nose oils? Maybe 80-grit sandpaper?
jk - any lens cleaning solution, gentle/diluted dishsoap, glass cleaner or even rubbing alcohol should work fine.
