Hi. I just sold a broken lens on Ebay. The buyer wrote me,
"Hi - Can I ask a favor?
I'd like to pay you for the lens and ask that you NOT SHIP it for a day or so. I'm trying to find a camera repair that can fix it for me. I will ask you to ship it directly there.
Is this OK?
Thanks so much."
What would you do? He has a 119/119 (100%) positive feedbacks.
Thanks.
- Jen

As long as he pays you with a trusted form of payment, it seems ok. None of this "I'll pay you twice as much and you pay the retailer" business. |

Have shipped audio gear directly to manufacturers for power supply conversions when the unit was sold to a buyer in europe. Done at the buyer's request, and done after payment received. No problem just ship it with a method that confirms delivery. |

Buy insurance also. It's cheap.

I just sold 3 of my cheap lenses on EBay. I wouldn't ship anything unless whatever payment he gives you clears. While I would RATHER send to HIS address.....you COULD ship to any address he gives you. But, request a return signed receipt and save the email he sends you. CoverYourA**.
Edited to add: If it's an international shipment. I would ONLY ship to his address.

Oh, also...I don't think Paypal/ebay will cover anything that happens as a result of shipping it to an alternate address. Just something to be aware of. |
