I have just been asked to supply the original of my ON the Beach submission!! I hope everything is good, I really believe I have followed the rules exactly.
Anyone care to sare their experiences with "Validation"?

Its easy as pie. Ya send in your original with your editing steps... then you wait.... sometimes a day or two.... then you're validated. That's that. (unless you cheated) lol

| I have had to validate 3 or 4 times and it is easy just as Cindi said. Make sure to send the raw if you shot in raw. |

Proof file received, however, it's not an original. We re requested to see if you could submit the original as it came out of the camera, and not ran through an editing software.
Just in case you were wondering why you got re requested. :) |

Finally got it! Sheesh, First I submit the wrong picture then the wrong type! Now I have sent the RAW file - I sure hope everything is OK.

Got the RAW file, we'll pick it apart and see if we can come up with some reason to DQ you. If not, we might just hit you with a 'major element' clause anyway.

I hate sending in my original. I've had to do it twice and both times I got DQ'ed. The first time I wasnt worried because of course i thought it was fine but the second time really made me nervous, i thought it was legal but just in case, I didnt want to get suspended. So from now on, i've been getting pre-validated!

i was asked to submit validation for my beach shot as well... i sent it in a few days ago, but never heard back. do you always pm back that it's ok, or do i just assume that since the image is still on page 4 and not below the pink like, that i'm in the clear?

you usually don't get a pm, after 4 days I would say your safe ;)

I thought that a person who has to submit an original always gets an official message that the shot has passed muster via a personalized message on the front page near the scores box. It's been a while since I had to submit an original, maybe that's just saying that the file has been received. Can someone clearify this for me please.

That is correct during challenge voting. After challenge when the top 5 send in originals for validation you get no message back unless its a DQ.

well... probably as a result of this post, but i have now recieved word from the bestest SC member ever that i'm in the clear...
not that i was ever worried, mind you...
