I submitted this photo to a couple of the stock sites. They both rejected it for reasons of "composition, exposure" etc.
The composition and exposrue were deliberate on my part, as I was going for a diagonal, silhouette. I was looking for a novel treatment of something that's pretty frequently shot fully lit, in macro.
So, I figured I'd seek feedback from my fellow DPC'ers.
Thanks.

My guess would be that stock sites want to see detail.
I would assume that "they" think it looks like an accident vs. planned.

Maybe I should just save my "arty" stuff for DPC ,where that kind of thing is more appreciated. |

Is that all?
People line up to "thwap" each other, but only one person answers a genuine photographic question!

In my opinion the photo isn't clean enough for stock. The background is muddied up by the other foliage in silhouette and the blue is a bit dark to make the dragonfly silhouette really pop.
Edit for typo.

I agree with the exposure feedback, also the wing being cut off probably isn't helping. |
