Close-ups, that site needs more close-ups of those girls. The photos there now are all group shots.

Those group shots on their web site are just horrible, there is no other word for it. :) Soft focus, low contrast, horrible light and lots of noise. It would be hard to do something as bad as this. :)

I suggest natural lighting. Outdoor poses and lots of close-ups. Props with cheerleading equipment (pom-poms, etc.) and multiple changes of clothes would help too. Good luck.

I'd say a group shot of them in uniform most definitely. and then individual shots of each one, probably in uniform as well.

then repeat it, individual and perhaps smaller groups (3-5) in more casual wear (tshirts and shorts).

I's shoot the wholoe round - full body, 3/4, head and shoulder and Head shots of each girl. If they do this, they also so other things or want to - acting, modeling, etc. I'd work it to get as many portfolios shots for myself as possible - TFP is the term (trade for prints). GET THEM TO SIGN RELEASES! You can find boilerplate model releases on any stock photo site.

Outside has plusses and minuses - the bright sun being a BIG minus, so look for a cloudy day or shade (watch WB - shoot RAW).
