sorry this is my blatant sexual frustration coming through here..
Anyway, I want a challenge that gives me an excuse to stop beautiful women and take photos of them, (and then preferably get their phone number too ;-) )
So, how about, ladies walking down the street, or.. oh I dunno! theres gotta be a sensible topic that could lead to some interesting photos and also serve as a friendly way to get talking about photography to some chick without seeming like a stalker..
maybe I'm on my own here, but I'm sure some of you guys in your early or late or whatever 20s will get what I'm talking about..
however many centuries it is of art cant be wrong! a woman centric challenge please! |

I'm all for equal opportunities.. have men the week after, I'll just turn it into a self portrait challenge..
seriously though how about some more people based challenges.. although to be fair I've only been here 2 weeks, (I think) so I may have just missed a big bunch of em.. |

Useless challenge... all the ribbons would be assigned by default to this guy.

Hey lust would work for me, right now I would be photographing a big piece of deep dark rich chocolate cake with peanutbutter icing and milk chocolate shavings on it, a large plump strawberry and a big glass of milk. Mmmmm now that is lust. Did I just make anyone else hungry besides me? |

I guess I figured hopefully I'd be 'settled' by then.. although thats looking less likely. Anyway, a lot of the girls I've spoken to recently bang on about wanting an 'older' man, maybe my chances will improve as my hair greys, I guess my boyish good looks (I got ID'd the other day, I'm 23, and legal age of drinking is 18) work against me.
And where does that guy find his models?? is there some trick I don't know about??? |

I actually saw this posted on some job website while I was in Chicago. I actually thought about doing it just so I could meet people while I was there. (And being able to tell hot women I was a model scout and would like to take their picture couldn't hurt my chances either.. lol)

Wilhelmina Scouting Network is a scam.
They "hire" you and "teach" you to "scout" but really they just want you to go give as many people your card as possible - there's an "entry fee" for the model to sign up to get posted on their website (like 500 bucks or s-thing.)
I'd not use this. It is very disrespectful to the people you 'scout' and quite the scam since they use a famous name but aren't associated with them at all.

Thanks for the info. Thats good to know. I didn't do enough w/ the application to find out they charged a fee.
I'll bet there are some legit ones out there, but if they charge a fee they aren't one of them.

I looked up the name Wilhemina Scouting Network on the web and was shocked at what I found this //www.transconscam.com/ site showing their business practises. On the good news anyone with an internet connection can find it too.

I suggest trying OneModelPlace.com. I've gotten a few models. From that, I was able to get some local models for sittings. Frankly this IS NOT a way to meet young ladies in a personal manner. It is a way to meet models for professional work. You can see some of my work at the links below; choose either OneModelPlace or PBase and look under Portraits. I've found that if you have a book of work that a person can see and you aren't shy about showing it, models are much more open and available to work with you. One other thing to consider strongly is either creating or copying someone else's model release before you shoot the first frame with a model. That way both you and he/she know the terms of who gets what and who owns what.
You can also contact local schools and art departments and place ads for models. If you have any work that you can show to an agency, you might be able to do test shoots with a local agency where they send new modeling applicants to a photographer for the initial set of photos to see some of the range that the model can produce.

Woah, this thread got off topic fast...
I think it might be a neat idea. But rather than male or female, what about a Male Model/Female Model. That way it saves us from 20 million photos of "look at this cute girl I saw walking down the street." Incorperating the model idea gives us a chance to practice posing and lighting conditions.
