Hey guys, lookin for a lil advice.
Through some friends I managed to land a live concert shoot with a magazine. The majority of the things I've shot in the past have been bands, but they've all been in dive bars and I was only publishing my works on the web. This presented a new challenge in that this gig had a proper stage and lighting setup. It was a pain to shoot because almost all of the stage lights were strobing, flashing, and moving. This was further complicated by the fact that the bouncer would only let me shoot three songs before kicking me out of the barracaded area up front. A few lessons I learned from mistakes I made:
1) Shoot ISO 100. Those lights are brighter than the ones in dive bars.
2) Shoot RAW + JPEG, not just your biggest JPEG
3) Show up for the opening acts and take some test shots, bring a laptop if you can and look at the images there before shooting the main event.
I'd really like some feedback from you cats before I submit my photos. They didn't tell me how many they wanted, any advice on how many I should give them? I imagine they want options, but I'm not sure how many I should provide. Also, I've never really done any post-processing before and I'm not sure what I should be trying to correct. If you guys could take a gander at what I've got and tell me if there's anything you like/dislike about the photos and what you'd change, I'd really appreciate it. These are straight out of the camera and saved for web. The originals are enormous JPEGs (2336 x 3504).
