I have a great sadness from this forum posts today.
The 9/11 it is not a USA event of celebration. It is a sad day for the world to remember the lost love of families.
Families from every country.
It is a time to remember people as people. It is not a time to have hate from one flag to a nother or from one culture from a nother.
Today is a day of love, a day of prayer and a day to have thanks for the love of friends and of family.
Ms Shiiizzz you are my family here. Your picture it is a wonderful art.
It is my prayer today that every heart in every country will find a moment of peace today.
We are a world of different people, but love is the same in every land.

Originally posted by Shiiizzzam: I honestly wish this photo wasn't even posted today. I did this photo because I wanted to. I did it for ME. Frankly, I don't care who agrees with it or doesn't. I'm sick of every single time I see a USA flag posted a handful of people have to put it and the country down. If you don't like it...don't look. Pretty simple answer don't you think ? |
O.k. should I contact the photographer of the piece before I post? I don't want to offend anybody.
I do pm the photographer to let them know that their picture was selected. I believe all photos in the portfolio file are open to everyone that has an account (gray shirt, blue shirt , blue shirt w/glasses, and yellow shirts).
What I usually do is go through all the galleries and if I find a wow picture. One that makes me click on the thumbnail and I feel deserves a look at.
If you don't want you photos highlighted let me know and I want bring it up in the forums. I believe most people are here to receive comments and learn. We all complain about now having enough comments. I'm just trying to get people to take notice of some exceptional pictures that not much people would view and hopefully leaving some comments.
Should I have one tomorrow or not?

Good question. I think the answer is up to you, faidoi.
I feel responsible for having raised the temperature of this thread mostly unwillingly.
You were looking for comments and emotions and you did find both.
There always are many keys of interpretation and I feel like there is a further one in this thread.
Sometimes we complain because we don't find what we are looking for. But, sometimes, problems start coming exactly when we find what we wanted.
That's why it's up to you to decide if you want to keep what you get or drop it. I hope you'll be positive because bad days can happen and we have to survive them to enjoy the good ones, if possible.

I vote for continuing as you have the past few days! As far as notifying the photographers you might want to ask the site owners if they feel it is necesary within the guidlines that they have set up! Not being a lawyer and going through site rules line by line I believe it is NOT necesary. Posting into a portfolio is inviting commentary on your images. That's why I put pics here! In fact if the shot that caused all this controversy were mine, I would be kinda impressed that my work started such an emotional discourse!

I think you do fine faidoi :) I just didn't want to see another topic go south with fussing. It's the main reason I don't visit the forums often. I think what you're doing is showing photos that aren't in a challenge and don't often get seen. My post was done while upset and not aimed at you in any way. I'm pretty much a tender hearted wuss and hate fussing and fighting. I don't look at the world as divided I don't put up boundries. Love ... REAL love is deeper beyond that.
Thanks to everyone that posted and took a look, no matter what your views have been. It's your right to have your own opinion.
