Likewise, anarchy doesn't mean that there are no rules, only that there are no rulers. This is a common and unfortumate misconception .... |

koriyama...???...coming from japan, I would have thought that you would have looked in your back yard before saying that...Japan has a long and storied tradition of trying to impose its rule and way on many countries...
you can make that argument for practically any country if you want to. The political monster exists in all gov't - no matter where - its just a case of if you want to recognize it or not...

Another definition of anarchy from the dictionary
anarchy
n : a state of lawlessness and disorder (usually resulting from a failure of government) [syn: lawlessness]

I acknowledged that "lawlessness" is a commonly used definition for anarchy; lexicographers rarely have time/space to write essays explaining complex political/philosophical positions (except the OED). But those who profess anarchy as a political system (and it is a system) generally use it in the sense I gave; that there are rules, but ones acceded-to by the people involved. It generally involves participatory rather than representative democracy. |

America helps with a very important caveat: the condition that the helped adopts American modes. Only those that sacrifice their culture (to some extent) can be allies.
'You're either with us, or against us'.
Not my idea of freedom. |
That quote was is referrence to terriorism, not Americanization. -As in you are either with us in battling terriorism, or we view you as a nation that harbors terriorist. Even IF that was the meaning behind that, (which it was not) one is still free to choose "with or against".
