I hope this works. This is my first post. I'm a talker so I will be in here a lot of this works well. :-)
I am wondering about a few things. I thought I had read all the rules and things and had this down pat. After about a half hour I finally got through the profile section but I had to resize my avatar. Some things I don't get yet though.
1. I am entering my very first challenge and wanted to know what exactly is it that is wanted in the "details" section when you put the information down about your photo? Are you supposed to put what you used in your shot or how you did your shot, etc? It doesn't say, and I can't find where it lists what is supposed to be in there?
2. I was going to upload a photo to my portfolio but it brings me to a subscription page. Do you have to be a paid member to have a portfolio?
3. I see in some of the forums that there are thumbnails in the messages that are made bigger when you click on them. How do you put the small photos in the message?
I might have more questions as I go, but hopefully I will catch on soon. It is nice to meet you all, and I am sure I will enjoy this site!

Welcome. :)
1. Anything you want. What was involved in taking the shot, why you did it, what it meant to you, your predicted score, your thoughts on life, etc.
2. Yes, you must be a paid member.
3. If you aren't a paid member, there's a tutorial here which describes how to link a thumbnail to images that are hosted offsite.
I might also, quite biasedly of course, suggest that you take a look at my FAQ which might answer other questions that come up for you.

Thank you so much mk. I guess my post worked fine and what a fast reply! Very nice to meet you, and thank you for the welcome.
Well then, I guess I had better become a paid member pretty quick. :-) I should have read the paid member stuff more carefully. I will read the link on the tutorial. Thank you again. |

Welcome Fantasia. This is a great site. I'm enjoying it, just became a member here not too long ago. Lots of helpful people. |

Thank you so much for the welcome cryingdragon. Love your name! I can see this site has a lot to offer. I'm anxious to begin. I am sure it will be lots of fun.
I'm going to see if I can view the challenge photos more closely now and leave some comments for others on them. Maybe I can vote to? There is so much to read and do. I can't wait for tomorrow night to (or is it morning?) when there is a challenge change. Mine will be in there and it will be exciting to see how it does. I don't usually have a lot of time on my hands, but it looks like I am going to have to make time for this site. :-) I am already having a good time, and such very nice people to. Thank you again for the welcome!

Hah hah hah. :-)
I should have hit the quote button I think. I'll learn eventually.
A job like this one is more fun I think then some I have been on. I think it won't be very difficult.
Thank you so much for the welcome! You are all so sweet. I even got my first private message welcoming me and that was so neat. :-) You are all making my smile and it's only my first night. A nice bunch of people you all are.
I'm nervous about my first entry in the b/w. I hope it does well. It's kind of whakky, but it will be interesting and nerve racking to watch. Do you all get nervous when you enter, and how do you see your scores? |

Very nervous. As a member, you can check your score on "My Home" and it refreshes every time you hit update. As a registered user, it's on the same place, but I don't know how it updates as I became a member first. :) Enjoy |

With entries I go through all the emotions. :-)
And if you become a member you get the update button for your score. Every time you click it you see where you are at. It is a whole new addiction:-P |

I am really going to have to be a paid member then. I will try to do that tomorrow. I'll just die without knowing my scores! I'm sure I will be addicted in no time and join the rest of you addicts. :-D
I just filled out the details section for my entry. I had to figure out how to bring it back up. I almost hit the "unsubmit your photo"! EEEK! :-) I got it done though. I probably put too much information but the more the merrier I guess. (Is that a to or a too? I'm not the greatest speller so I wish there was a spell check in here. :-D)
I am glad I am not the only one nervous. I guess it's just natural like any other contest.
My best of luck to all of you! I hope I don't bomb :-+ I'm looking forward to talking with you on the current challenge forum for the black and white contest!

Thank you Leo for the welcome. I hope you like them! I have a lot more to take though. A lot of what I have now are saved and put away for the summer and were mostly for clients. I want to work on new ones for my personal use and this gives me the best excuse. Hopefully I will have time to begin later this week, but I have a few from this week I can put up. Nothing all that special, but I like them. :-D |

I'll be around! Thanks for the welcome!
It's been a long day so I am off for tonight, but I will be back tomorrow to continue voting on the wonderful beach photos! Then I will head off to vote on the other one and then leave some comments.
I can tell that it was a great thing finding this site. You are all wonderful.
Have a good night! |
