| Wont a slr 35mm lens for canon fit on a canon dslr. I think there is like some multiplication factor to the zoom, like x1.8 or something, but the 35mm AF lens should work right? |

Assuming it's a fairly modern Canon lens it will work fine. There are compatability problems with the electrical connections with some of the older lenses in the Canon lineup.

Multiplication factor on the 300D is 1.6x, so a 35mm lens on the 300D will actually give the same zoom as a 56mm lens on a full-frame camera body.
