Tonight I was experimenting with my Sigma 105mm macro lens, and from the results I created
this image. In dutch it's called a 'theunisbloem', anyone who can tell me what the english name is? The sequence in the image spans less than 2 minutes, and this happens every night at dusk. The next morning the flowers will be gone, with lots of buds ready to go through the same sequence the next evening. |

I don't know what it's called but that is a very cool time lapse - I especially like the "surprise" at the end ;) |

Could be an Evening Primrose? I saw a very similar wild flower in South Africa. |

Definitely an Evening Primrose
This originally North-American species flowers at night . It then spreads a fairly strong and strange fragrance, attracting night pollinators : the city's nightlife ! It was already brought from the New World in the 17th century and since then naturalized, preferring fallow land and disturbed vegetation types

Thanks for your replies! I already knew the name primrose, but never realised it was this type of flower. |
