So, I've finally decided to send my forms to get my U$100 rebate on the Canon XT. Am getting everything together, papers, filling up the forms, making copies, etc, when I look at my receipt and it says Date of sale: March 31st, 2006. Then I look back at the rebate form and it says "valid for purchases between APRIL 1ST and bla bla bla". WHAT? I MISSED IT FOR ONE DAY??!?!?!?
Should I even bother sending it in just to see if they're gonna cut me a break, or is it useless?
Arghhhhhhhhhh!

Yeah, try it. Canon is notorious for being real lax on their rebates. I'm sure everything will work out for you just fine.
I realize you can't hear the sarcasm on a forum post, but just insert your own favorite sarcastic voice here.

I hate rebates! I don't buy anything with a rebate attached, period.
Once upon a time a sales guy had me rung up for a couple thousand dollars worth of computer, monitor, & printer. It was all on the counter, ready to go. Then he pulled out the rebate crap. I told him to take the rebates off for me then & there because I didn't want to deal with them. He explained that he couldn't. I left without buying anything & went to another computer shop & bought everything there.
If everybody would just buckle down a bit, we wouldn't have to waste time on rebates, sheesh. |

REbates are just another way to get your name & address and survey who's buying what where. I only bother if it's significant..... like 400.00 rebate on my film scanner (that I rarely use anymore!)
Same when the businesses want your zip code...... in my opinion they should be paying for survey info. |

Yeah, I guess I'll just forget those U$100. I wasn't really counting on them, since I completely forget to send for it, so...At least I won't have to cut my kit box :)
