I recently went to the zoo here in Albuquerque. I hadn't been there in a couple years, and they've made a lot of changes. Since I had my 15-month-old nephew with me, it was a short trip and I didn't get a ton of shots. It was my first trip there with a focus on getting some good shots. I had to wait until Perspectives was over to post this though, because one of my favorites was my entry. Unfortunately it didn't fit the challenge as much as I had originally thought it would.
And the rest that have been processed:
CC is always appreciated!!

| Wow. For a minute there I was looking at the thumbnail of the gorilla shot with a white tree in the background and thinking "what the heck is that enourmous bird?". |

Yes, as a thumbnail the tree does look a bit funky.
Thanks everyone! Yes, it was a fun outing and I'm looking forward to going back with more time and more memory. I ran out in the middle and had to delete some.
And my nephew is also adorable!

Lorene,
Thanks for the shots and reminder that the "Duke City" has a good zoo. I'll be down there the week of Aug. 10th and may visit the zoo, if not will send the kids. Van |

| It looks like these were shot around noon or early afternoon. Im not a big fan of shooting animals or people in such harsh lighting conditions, its hard to really see any good details of the subjects. Although it works with the Happy Happy Hippo shot. |

Yeah, I realized while I was there that it wasn't going to be the best time-wise. It was the only time that worked with nap schedules and stuff though, so I'm looking forward to going again and having no distractions. I would like to go first thing in the morning, and hope to see more active animals. |

I hadn't thought about that before; wonder what all it would entail? It's an interesting idea... |

I do, Well I do as much as anyone at the local zoo. I teach photography at the zoo in July and August, and the rest of the year I sell CD's of zoo animal pictures (20.00 a cd) |

| Yeah, I work at the zoo, and I work right next to our photographer. He is amazing, he has been on the cover of Time, the New York Times, Newsweeks, but it is deffently a job, just curious if there are any here. It entails doing all of the photography for the graphics department. |
