Anyone have any experience with either of these card brands? The prices on Newegg are certainly very tempting compared to the Sandisk Extreme.

I've used Transcend almost exclusively since my first digicam in 2001 (I do have one Lexar). The only problems I've ever had were with the Lexar. :-/

I was looking for another 2GB card. When I saw scalverts post in another thread and the price....I ordered 1. Works like a dream.

I have a Transcend 45X 1GB CF as does my sister, my shooting partner and my father. No troubles with any of those cards in the last 3 years.

I also have a 1GB Ridata (they are the same company as Ritek which is their CD/DVD brand and is also highly regarded) SD card and it's been plugging away with frequent use and gets swapped from device to device frequently (I have a handful of SD using devices) for more than two years.

I've been pretty happy with them. Around local Taipei (not far from where they are made), they are regarded as some of the higher brands.

The only problems I've heard from cards have been Lexar, Kingmax/Kingston and Sandisk (mostly by people getting ripped off for buying MUCH slower cards because they often don't mark speeds on them - a friend of mine bought a 1GB 12X SD card for around 30 bucks US about two months ago).

Thanks everyone. I went ahead and got a pair of Transcend 120x 4GB CF cards. I'll break them in next week on vacation and see how they do.

Ive got the Ridata 8gb pro2 80X CF card in my 30D. Probably not the fastest card in the world but man does it hold a lot of pics and for the $144 price tag and lifetime warranty Im happy with it.

I also got a Lexar firewire CF card reader which makes moving pics from CF card to PC so much faster than using USB to the cam or from a USB card reader.

No problems with Transcend, but only used for 2 months and SD version.
