None-challenge photos should get 5 stars option by visitors. There should be a "Star" column on our portfolio list.

Each time visitor should be able to give star(s) and/or comment for a photo. This way we could have "some" idea of the photos we published and visited.

(pain in the rear-end ideas #25,340)

I like this idea.

having idea of "liked" and "Disliked" photos we published...

I know there is a "comment" window, but not many people prefer to "type"...

To make it easy for visitors to tell us what they think of a photo without actually saying it...

"stars" option is everywhere... and there is no reason why not here either.

just an idea :P

Ohhhh, hellll no... I don't want my non-challenge photos given a score... that would suck big-time.

Nope, don't do it... suckage would follow.

not a bad idea but I dont really want it, even if I had an on/off button I KNOW I would turn it on even if I didn't want to know.

This photo will never die. It will haunt DPC to the end of time, and the addicts will wake up screaming in the night, "It was the cheese! The cheese was coming! It wants my soul!"

*opens the door a bit, and peeks inside*

"I thought I heard someone... but there is nothing but that damn picture"

*closes the door slowly*

Personaly I would hate this. It's demoralising enough to have your challenge entry slammed but at least it's within the context of a challenge with a description and other entrants and people are always going to interprit differently what meets the challenge etc. To have someone give one of my personal shots taken because the event, person, or place holds meaning to me, a low rating would be heartbreaking to me. It's different if you ask for feedback, otherwise keep your oppinions I say. Just my 2 cents.

Whatever we do in life is judged and voted by someone. At home, at school at work... here.

If we demoralised each time we hear negative things, we have a little problem in our hands which we might need to seek help to.

I try to "think" positive. People learn from their failures, not from their successes. Teams learn from their defeat...

We publish our photos here and show to world what we have done. if 100 people passes through one of the photos, only 1 or 2 leaves comment... I believe about 20 of those people would like to leave some kind of comment but either didn't have time, didn't have how to express, or other reasons.

I have been taking my photos off my profile, because they didn't get enough "visit" and I agreed with visitors "visit" count, so I tried to do better... never got discouraged...

You are here voluntarily, no one's holding you without your will. I think if people can not take the pressure, in any kind, in anywhere, should not stay and stressed more... and especially in a place where supposed to be "fun"

If you open a gallery, and start selling your photos. Say 1,000 people visit your gallery, which all could spend money but only one person purchases one photo... that means 999 people didn't like any of your other work enough to purchase it. Would you discourage?

What would you say to your friend who is honest and gave a negative review of one of your photo? would you be angry at him or her? or to yourself?

I really WOULD like to see those none-challenge photos to be voted somehow, and if not, that's ok. I still have my "senses" and some "comments" that I can use to rotate my photos...

:)

focuspoint, why don't you look into DailyAwards.com? It's free and every shot you upload goes into voting. They have 21 different categories, including one called Other, so every photo has a place to go and be judged. Many dpc'ers have done well over there, in fact you could say we dominate.
