i agree, it's an excelellent and beautiful shot. keep shooting for you. there are people on this site that would kill for a 5.6 score in a challenge.

i have to also agree, you taking this shot portrayed "progress", but only because you have an extensive knowledge of what these butterflies have gone through. unfortunately, the voters, the one that supply the scores, do not have that luxury, so they vote based on what they're given. the title i think caused a few of those 3, 2s, and 1s, which i still think is way too low for this image.

it's a great image, please don't forget that. just chalk it up to not seeing eye to eye with the voters on your portrayal of progress...if you're happy with it, who cares ;)

have a great week, and good luck on the lines and any other challenge you hopefully enter. you have great great work. i hope to see more of it soon:)

Ok - possible reasons for your 'low score'

1.- the butterfly is out of focus (DPC people must have pin sharp photos 'cos they dont like out of focus or soft shots!)

2.- without the title would people know what it was supposed to represent?

3. Not matter what we think of our photos other people just dont see it our way!

4. You are very talented so dont stop entering comps - if you do that you will have let THEM win!

5. Dont worry about the scores! Just enjoy taking your photos and please yourself!
