Just became a paying member of (DPC) society and was wondering...Are there general rule of thumbs (rules of thumb?) for pics in your portfolio??? What size should they be, what resolution etc??? I wanna share and get feed back but don't wanna turn anyone off (thinkin' of other folks stuck on dial up) on (relatively again a dial up thing) huge file sizes... Some guidelines for a newb would be appreciated!

I usually size them the same way as for the challenges. If the detail is most important, I might save with less compression, but if the composition is more important I might save it a little smaller. Remember there's only 10mb available (your actual entries do not count towards that, only additional pics you upload).
If you want to put one up just to link a printable file to, make it really small and highly compressed. There will be a new preview generated from the print file.
Oh, and only put thumbnails in the forum posts, with links to the full-sized images.

I simply try to match the file size of my Challenge entries. Thus, most of my portfolio files are 150kb or less. By storing pics this size, I will have approximately 70 fotos before my portfolio space gets completely filled. Hopefully, before that even happens, the wish to have bigger space will be granted :)
