Hi
I have two hard disk each of 40 MB . Primary hard disk ( with OS ) has 4 partions of 10 mb each . Secondary has two partions of 20 mb each.

I just read a simple article on how to change virtual memory. Everything was easy to understand only issue is that i have 6 drives spread over two hard disk i.e. 4 in primary and two in secondary .

I changed virtual memory for drive where my OS is located using option CUSTOM SIZE as per article. What do i do about rest partion/drives, do i change their virtual memory using CUSTOM SIZE option? or choose option of SYSTEM MANAGED size or choose option of NO PAGING FILE.

Secondly i recently used SPYBOT to remove soem adware , as a result whenever my PC starts it gives a message that "Program XXXX not found , please check the Path( i donot remember name of the programme it mentions)" than i have to click option ok and than another message flashes which i again click ok.Than everything is fine.

What should i do so that i dont get this message i.e after all programme are loaded PC saying "Program XXXX not found , please check the Path"

The message is showing because SPYBOT has removed the spyware, but left some of the shortcuts still in your Startup group. I dont think the error message has anything to do with your paging file settings.

If you have admin rights on your machine. Type "msconfig" in the RUN menu, go to the services and startup tab, and remove anything related to the error message you received.

Thanks crayon.
I am not saying i am getting low virtual memory message due to removal of spyware.

It is just that i need to change virtual memory setting and also want to remove the shortcut. I just posted both problem together but i know they are not linked.

On one computer, you only need 1 paging file. You dont have to set it for all partitions or drives on your computer.

Unless you have tonnes of RAM on your computer, it is best to leave the paging (virtual memory) settings to the computer (system managed size). Personally, I have usually set the paging size to:

(amount of RAM) - [(amount of RAM) + 3(amount of RAM)]

it's just a personal preference.
I'm just curious as to why you have chosen to partition your HDD to 4x10MB and 2x20MB ? 10MB dont go very far nowadays :)

that was my thought too. To be honest I would format both drives and start fresh. Paging files are best handled by the OS.
I have one 80g internal and 2 external 1 400g and 1 300g, and I am still worried about space.

Why i did 4 partions of hard disk, actually when i got this hard disk installed i did not know much ( i still donot know much) aboyt PC. Guy who installed told me should i do four i said ok ( i knew what partions are but did not know whether 4 on a 40 mb hard disk would be great).

My hard disk has been giving me issue lately though out of available 80 gb hard disk at max i might have used about 25 gb hard disk. I wanted to avoid buying hard disk so that i could buy a new monitor and cheap flash meter

Just to be clear, there is a huge difference between MB and GB.
