Cher artiste,

Cordialement,

LB

Should I assume this is a scam or is this name/method of reaching 'DIGITAL ARTISTS' at all known by any members? Has anyone else gotten this?

As I'm sure all of you would, I've already sent my 'initial payment' of $5,000 to secure a spot on the list of artists. I know, I know, you're all jealous. Just wait your turn. :-P

Pffft. Next week I am heading to Nigeria to help the son of an assassinated government official get his $30million out of a foreign bank account. He's cutting me in for $10million! And all I have to do is send him $5k to setup an account to transfer the $30M to.

Yep, after I get back from Nigeria, you'll see a whole new Art with a whole new list of equipment!

Surely you jest...but I'll play along... :)

It is ok in forums to have typos and improper grammar but official corresponence should be proofed (there my be a language barrier here but still has some Rookie phisher/hoax type mistakes) before sending.

First Clue (already point out by Konador)...They don't know your name... (didn't cap artist either) at lest 100,000 "artists" got this same invite.

(Some Snippetts to highlight a few)

...for printing them in very big size on some innovative supports.
Jock straps and brassieres are supports...WTF

Users will also be able to select an image in our "artists catalogue".
Who's image? What users?

We would like also to become the first digital prize in Europe.
I think the first digital prize has already been given out...

If you wish more infos, don't hesitate to contact us

Some great ideas from the forum. Okay, so I've written back asking for more "infos" on what the photo's are for, and I even asked for examples of past work. Hopefully this large and expansive company will put together an awsome demo of what they've done in the past.

They also wrote it in French so that I could be sure I understand the concept of what they do. How did they know that I love to pretend I can read French? These people clearly understand me better than I understand myself, which is why I am trusting my life savings to their hands.

Wow. Good luck with these opportunities guys. I just hope they don't 'betray your thrust'. ;)

Even if you decide to not "help them out", they have made money. Every person that answers their e-mail and plays along is money in the bank to them. This shows a real live valid e-mail address of someone that responds to scams, gimicks and odd-ball stuff. So the e-mail addresses gets sold to the scammers international clearing house and passed along to all the other scammers for a price.

So unless you use the same throw away e-mail address that the scammers use to answer them back, they take the e-mail address to cover their expenses while they keep trying to get that 30 million out of Africa.
