Who has entered the most challenges without ever winning a ribbon?

I found myself wondering that after noticing that most peoples who have entered 50+ challenges have earned at least one ribbon and usually a few honorable mentions.

Who has gone the longest without a ribbon?

My guess is Paul since he´s one of the few who has done 300+ challenges. Anyway, has his own style and I don´t think he cares much for ribbons, more here to have fun.

Here is a link to his profile.

I have over 50 challenges and have yet to crack the top ten. That's gotta be worth something.

Well, probably not worth much, now that I think about it.... :-)

Yeah, definitely looks like Paul wins that one.

Should I dare ask another question in the same thread?

How many people have debuted with a ribbon (i.e. won a ribbon on their first entry)?

I remember Arpita started with a blue ribbon, and there were a lot of first-timers in the early challenges- drewmedia, joshuamli...

geimdrengur is one and a bloody chicken too, he doesn´t dare enter again of fear of "ruining" the 100% record :P

Well...I have entered 79 challenges without a ribbon. 3 top tens including a 4th place, but I'm sure I'm going to ribbon this week (yea, right)

My highest score is a 7 and I have 2 5th place honorable mentions.
Someday, I'll make it...(I hope)
07/17/2006 11:32:13 AM · #16
What's the lowest place for an honorable mention, 5th?
07/17/2006 11:45:08 AM · #17
ladibug debuted with a blue ribbon.

I am ready to join the 50+ challenges with no ribbon club!
07/17/2006 11:47:23 AM · #18
I've entered 74 challenges with no ribbon. I have placed 5th twice, and made top ten a few times. Now I'm back in a slump and don't ever expect to win a ribbon here.

How did you come up with that? Did you do some kind of count, or stat analysis, or is it just an off-hand observation?
07/17/2006 12:41:57 PM · #20
Completely off-hand observation.

This thread helped me find out more or less what I want to know without going to the trouble of a prolonged statistical analysis (although I am wont to do those from time to time - I think it might be a personality disorder...).

I'd be happy with a top ten. Really, I would!

getting in the top ten is like getting laid. it feels great at the time, then after a while you start to wonder, "is that all there is?"

You might be doing it wrong, Don. Because I got a top 10, and it sure felt great, but it usually feels a lot better getting laid... ;-p
