Hi guys and gals, last night at the race track I had something happen with my flash that has me baffled. And I thought I remembered reading about it, but a search here and google and yahoo have left me empty. While shooting with the flash in FP mode I could shoot 2 or 3 shots in ettl mode. And then the zoom on flash would go to 28 and flash, I had to power it down and then turn it back on, and it would work great. It would do this every 2-3 shots, and no matter what I did, power down, even took it off and mounted it back again and the same thing. So I bumped my ISO up to 1600 and shot the rest of the night without flash. I got home and now I cant duplicate the concern with it. But I know it will do it again. Any suggestions? I am heading on vacation this week and likely wont need it, but I doubt I can get in touch with Sigma this week. Any suggestions would be great thanks.

The first question to ask is if the batteries are healthy. Secondly, is the head shifting at all? If the head is not pointing straight forward, sometimes the flash zoom does some funny things. Was the flash shifting at all in the hotshoe?

I checked the head made sure it was straight out. The batteries were freshly charged rechargables. I didnt change the batteries at all and at home now I cant make it do it again. The flash was tight in the hotshoe as well. I remember reading about this symptom somewhere on the net before. Just cant remember where. Thanks for you thoughts.
