Most months (I missed the last two) I go down to Oyama to play boardgames (half an hour train ride). It's held in a community centre in a department store. On the same floor this week, there is a sale of Lost Property found on Japan Railways tains - and I first came upon the cabinet with camera gear: several film cameras, bags, a tripod, and lenses.
One of the lenses was a Sigma 70-210mm and I tried it out on my camera and was impressed by its apparent sharpness, so I bought it for 8000 yen. Bargain, I reckon. It's the same lens that Nobody owns.
I'm very pleased, because it will work well on my Pentax film camera to replace the zoom lens that's sort of broken...

I just had to go convert yen to dollars......I'd say you got a great deal! Hard to believe people would lose/forget things on the train and then not go to the lost and found to find them, especially expensive items like cameras and lenses.
