I've been browsing around this website for months now.
I found it from a friend of mine.
I hate this to be my first post here but I'd REALLY like to get EVERYBODY'S opinions on this.
I would love to have your opinions on making a portfolio.
I have to see a guy tomorrow about a BIG opportunity.
But I honestly don't think my portfolio is anywhere near strong enough to be honest. But why not take a chance? This is a VERY big opportunity for me.
Anyway, are these shots strong enough for a portfolio in your opinion?
Honestly? I need to make this as strong as possible.
Which stay which go?
If ANYBODY wants to give me their advice,suggestions,and/or opinions.
Is this portfolio strong, weak, or what?
Any images that stick out (good or bad).
I have this on a autorun CD I was going to send out.
Below is the EXE. You can totally trust me it's NOT a virus.
This is the ONLY way I can find to show it without you having to download a software update.
So if you trust me and want to help me out click on the link below and tell me what you think.
Be brutally honest please!

Or you can try to watch it with this link if you don't trust me or whatever.

Just a suggestion... zip the exe and give the link for the zip file. People probably would like to download the zip rather than an exe file.
just IMHO. |

Ok Joey I will give it a shot ...
1) the duration of the images in proshow are way too long ... you have fast tempo music happening there and the images dont match that tempo.
For Proshow I try to keep my segments around 2 mins and slide durations about 3 sec
2) the images are OK but the ordering is odd... you go from a boxer to a wedding scene to a yellow cast to a basketball shot ... It seems very thrown together. The thing just stops at the end ...
The image quality is ok - love the cheerleader and the 1st car shot But the "selection" of which images to display I have a little issue with... If you are looking for an event gig I think you will be OK...but any other type of stuff Id vary the selection of images

Thanks, I totally agree with most of what you said.
I just want to hear as many people's views first and I'll update it. |

Oh by the way, this portfolio is aimed mostly for Entertainment and Sports.
I might be doing some spot news on this gig. But I have nothing to put in the portfolio for that. |

If you are doing entertainment and sports... I would do a bit of grouping so that the images don't look so random

I agree that there should be less time between each slide, and that the photos should be grouped together.
I also think that after looking through, the image of the hallway with the light on the end sticks out as a poor quality shot, and really shouldn't be at the end, where it will remain as a final impression. It doesn't fit with the other shots.

Thanks, I've already taken it out.
I'm actually making a new as I view what people are saying.

that is a helluva more effective :)
but dont make me have to click... set it to no menus
and dont just let it die at the end ... a blank (black) with a caption would close it out nicely

Only one concern...depending on who you show this to the one with the fake blood all over his face is an excellent image...but it is a little disturbing. I LOVE your band shots...they are very nice. Have you considered running any of them through neat image? Just a touch of noise reduction might make them pop a bit more. Also, I would punch up the colors on Jeff Gordon's car (I think 24 is Gordon anyway)just a little bit. Maybe make the last slide a simple black and white business card type slide with you basic information.
PS where did you see Nickelback? I saw them in Des Moines, it was a great concert! Love that band. |

Once in Fort Wayne,Indiana and the last time in Indianapolis,Indiana.
That shot was taken in Indianapolis on July 2nd. |

I'd have to agree with most of what has been said. I watched before I read the other comments. The grouping is odd, the wedding photo with the back of the woman's head in the bottom right corner could probably be left out, and there is definetly too much time on each photo. I actually didn't watch until the end. I got tire of waiting.
Most of the photos are of excellent quality. I wish I could shoot like that.
And welcome. Come on in, spend some time and have some fun.

Here is a other one (link below). If you time check it out.
Is this one any better?
Just testing some things.
