Well, my vote is for decently early, but not TOO early. I will, afterall, be recovering from wedding festivities :-) I don't think I'd want to do any earlier than 8am...with 9am as a little better.
Main parking lot of GotG? |
Just let me know what time and where. I don't know the area, but I can follow directions. Id've liked to be there for sunrise (5:44). But, anytime is good for me.
P.S. Backs feeling MUCH better. I have a good manager and been taking it easy at work.

Okay - let's shoot for 9am at the main parking lot at GotG. Still plenty of morning light that way, but Libby and I won't be so trashed from the wedding.

I have to be in Woodland Park (15 m. w. of Colo. Spgs.) Friday, any one up for a cup of coffee that afternoon, I may need one. Let me know. Can't make it on Sunday. Have fun at the G. of Gods. It should be great. Van |

I may be able to get away. We just moved into a new house and there is a lot to do.
I will post later in the week as my plans finalize. |

9AM at the parking lot of the Garden of the Gods......correct? If anyone wants to meet earlier for breakfast and/or coffee, PM me your number or post here and I'll PM you my number.
Added: Invitation for carpool is still open to anyone coming from the North.

Have a great time! Was so hoping to get over there & meet a few new people but a trip to Canada interupted my plans! Garden of the Gods is one of my favorite places! |

I would like to join you for the Sunday GTG at Garden of the Gods. I'm also up for coffee beforehand...
I've been involved with DP Challenge since 2002, but I just recently entered my first challenge in a year or so (been very busy!).
There is a Starbucks near Garden of the Gods at Centennial and Garden of the Gods Road. If anyone needs help with directions, I live in Colorado Springs and know the city pretty well...
Thanks,

From I25 north or south -
Exit at Garden of the Gods Road (Exit #146) and go west on Garden of the Gods road.
Starbucks is on the southeast corner of Centennial and Garden of the Gods road (see map below).
Feel free to email or PM me, or call my cell 719-440-4150.

Libby and I may or may not join y'all for coffee, but since we'll be somewhat hungover from the wedding I wouldn't entirely count on it.

Here are a few shots of Garden of the Gods, for those who are not familiar with it:

Did a two hour horseback ride through GotG today, and it is BEAUTIFUL!!!! Scoped out so many places I want to shoot, and I'm sure we didn't see it all. I'm so excited for Sunday :-)
Also, MrEd, I don't know if you did hotel for Saturday night or not....but we got a decent price at Castaways Inn.
Tomorrow looks like Pike's Peak and some surrounding parks for us :-) See ya all soon! |

Be prepared for cool possibly wet weather Sunday. Maybe some fresh snow on the Peak. Hope it holds off until noon for you all. |

Yeah, I don't know if we'll make it all the way to the top.....sounds kinda silly, I'm sure. But I get fairly nervous driving through the mountains. Add snow to that, and it might just be enough to scare me away. Just gonna have to try and put on my brave face and see how far we get :-) |
