A friend of mine just picked up a Nikon Coolpix 8700 and is wondering why the lcd screen is blank when connected to a pc while taking photographs.

Unfortunately I don't know any more than this. It's being mounted permanently and connected to computer at all times (without using memory card I guess). Being used for employee photographs.

Any help would be appreciated.
