Is it legal to ship a camera (film, not digital) from the US to the UK? |

You can import nearly anything from the US to the UK (the exceptions being things like firearms & drugs), but you will have to be prepared to pay import duty and/or VAT on the items. This will depend on how much the company/person shipping the camera declares the package to be worth. Of course, mis-declaring the value of a package is illegal, and you may have problems getting the item if it's inspected & determined that it's worth more than stated, but that's the responsibility of the company/person shipping it.
On the receiving side, I've found that couriers will deliver the item but then send you an invoice to cover their paying the import fees for you, and the post office will not deliver until you turn up with the cash at your delivery office (they'll deliver you a notification card though).
