Here is my brief take on the web photo-gallery software called "SimpleViewer".
I have tried many solutions in the past to put my pictures online that both kept them secure and presented them properly.
Besides a watermark, the only way to keep pictures secure is to go through flash.

After much research I came across simpleviewer. Being flash it keeps my photos secure, but its greatest feature is live resizing.
I can be sure no mater what the monitor resolution is, the pictures will be displayed properly. It also pre-loads the pictures for faster viewing and has smooth effects that look nice.

The system can be managed in a few ways including on the server side, but the picasa plug-in works great.
You just pick the pictures that you want and export them as a webpage.
It is also customizable if you want to tweak advanced features like color and border. Best of all it's free!

List of features from the site:

* Intelligent image pre-loading.
* Intuitive image navigation
* Lightweight (12k).
* Customizable interface - Set text color, frame color and width, navigation position.
* Resizable interface - Interface scales to fit browser window.
* Cross platform - Windows/Macintosh/Linux (requires Flash 6 or higher).
* Flash 6 detection. Users without Flash 6 are redirected to an upgrade page.
* International font support.
* Keyboard Navigation (left and right cursor keys)
* Free!
