I just got my new Visible Dust sensor brushes today with the spinny thingy, and I had great results in getting some crud of the sensor, so I'm a happy camper.
My dumb question is, what is the difference between the two brushes that came with the kit? There's a big one, and a smaller one that came together in the package. I'm just wondering whether there's some reason for using one over the other? |

I never figured that out either. I mostly just use the big one and figure if it wears out or gets dirty, I always have the smaller one as a backup. |

Each one is for different sensor sizes.

I don't think that's the case... the kit is specifically for a 1.6x sensor...

The little one is for when you have a hard time getting dust from the edge or out of the corner of the sensor.
Good that you mention it, need to clean my very dirty sensor before the GTG this weekend. :)

When I got mine, one brush was the exact size of the sensor and was made for making one sweep at a time across the sensor. The other one was a wider, fan-style brush that was for general cleaning of things like the mirror and the rest of the box surrounding the sensor. I generally use the fan brush first to get the box clean, and then go do the sensor with the sensor brush. |

The manual states the little brush is for field cleaning. You can build a charge on the little brush by simply spining it rather than needin g an air canister to charge the larger brush. The blower is used for cleaning the edges and everything in between. |

@&$T$^$%&_!#!!!!
I cannot get it clean. :(
Sure, I hit a 'moist' dirt blob and smear it all over the sensor.
Ok, I got Sensor Clean fluid and things to use it on the sensor.
But after that I have no smear anymore, but a lot of cotton dust. After 4 cleaning cycles there is still dust on it, less and less yes, but in a different place after each cleaning attempt. Arghhhh!
Going to repeate it tomorrow, or else try and fetch some eclipse and spatula's.
