I have a really old Tamron lens with a Minolta mount. It is a manual focus, but it has good Mactro capability.
Is there a way to change a mount for a lens. I don't use my old 35mm Minolta anymore. It would be awesome if I could get it to mount on my Nikon.

In this case, you are out of luck. The register distance (distance from lens mount to sensor plane for the Minolta lens is 43.7mm which is smaller than the Nikon register distance of 46.5mm. That essentially means that a mechanical adapter cannot be used; you can't get the lens close enough to the sensor even with an adapter of zero thickness. You could mount the lens, but you would not have infinity focus. It would, however, work as a macro lens.
The other trouble here, unless things are different with the D200 from earlier Nikons, is that you lose metering when using a lens with a manual aperture. |
